Article II

FOUR FARTORS OF LEADERSHIP

Leader

You must have an honest understanding of who you are, what you know, and what you can do. Also, note that it is the followers, not the leader or someone else who determines if the leader is successful. If they do not trust or lack confidence in their leader, then they will be uninspired. To be successful you have to convince your followers, not yourself or your superiors, that you are worthy of being followed.

Followers

Different people require different styles of leadership. For example, a new hire requires more supervision than an experienced employee. A person who lacks motivation requires a different approach than one with a high degree of motivation. You must know your people! The fundamental starting point is having a good understanding of human nature, such as needs, emotions, and motivation. You must come to know your employees' be, know, and do attributes.

Communication

You lead through two-way communication. Much of it is nonverbal. For instance, when you “set the example,” that communicates to your people that you would not ask them to perform anything that you would not be willing to do. What and how you communicate either builds or harms the relationship between you and your employees.

Situation

All situations are different. What you do in one situation will not always work in another. You must use your judgment to decide the best course of action and the leadership style needed for each situation. For example, you may need to confront an employee for inappropriate behavior, but if the confrontation is too late or too early, too harsh or too weak, then the results may prove ineffective.
Also note that the situation normally has a greater effect on a leader's action than his or her traits. This is because while traits may have an impressive stability over a period of time, they have little consistency across situations (Mischel, 1968). This is why a number of leadership scholars think the Process Theory of Leadership is a more accurate than the Trait Theory of Leadership.
Various forces will affect these four factors. Examples of forces are your relationship with your seniors, the skill of your followers, the informal leaders within your organization, and how your organization is organized.

Article 1

By Niki Koswanage and Angie Teo

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 (Reuters) - Malaysia's palm oil stocks are poised to drop further this month after hitting a six-month low in January as heavy rains and floods continue to dampen output. Concerns over low yields after massive floods swamped key Malaysian oil palm growing areas in end January have triggered a rush for the vegetable oil used for cooking, as countries struggle to keep food prices low and ward off public unhappiness with inflation. Traders said this month's rush for palm oil was in part due to some restocking activity by China after the Lunar New Year break and the resulting drawdown in stocks will further lift palm oil futures, currently trading at a three-year high. "I won't be surprised if the key 4,000 ringgit ($1,316) level gets breached soon," said a trader with a foreign commodities brokerage. "Stocks are pretty tight and export demand will become much better."The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said on Thursday that January stocks in the world's No. 2 producer of the vegetable oil fell 12.2 percent to 1.42 million tonnes from December, worse than forecasts for a decline of 10.2 percent in a Reuters survey. Palm oil production in the Southeast Asian country dropped 14.2 percent to 1.06 million tonnes, as heavy rains and floods in key oil palm growing areas stalled harvesting and cut off estate roads. "Palm oil production is expected to seasonally fall further in February 2011, but to recover thereafter," Credit Suisse analyst Tan Ting Min said in a note issued after the MPOB data release. "The market is closely watching the weather in South America and the U.S. planting intentions report “.But in the immediate term planters are concerned that prolonged exposure to moisture could turn the fruits rotten, hurting yields in the next two to three months.January exports stood at 1.21 million tonnes, much higher than production, the MPOB said, although traders and analysts are expecting a much stronger February shipment data as emerging market economies scramble to secure supplies to avoid further price rises in cooking oil. Reinforcing the trend, cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services reported a 45.7 percent jump in Malaysian palm oil exports for Feb. 1-10 versus the same period a month ago. Another surveyor, Societe Generale de Surveillance, pegged the increase at 28.5 percent. Thailand, usually self-sufficient in palm oil, announced plans last week to buy 120,000 tonnes of crude palm oil from Malaysia or Indonesia, the top two producers, to address a cooking oil shortage.  The move came as Malaysia faced its worst floods in four years, prompting traders to speculate that orders may shift to Indonesia, which has not been so badly affected. "Refiners in Malaysia are also ordering Indonesian palm oil to meet their orders for this month and next month," said a refiner in southern Malaysia. "But let's not forget that Indonesian production is not limitless, there will be a general feeling of tight supplies."

From this article,I conclude that there are related in DEMAND and SUPPLY:
DEMAND is the quantity of a good or service that buyers are willing and able to purchase at different prices in a period of time in a given market holding other non-price factors constant.CHANGE IN DEMAND is a change in quantity demanded at each possible price and is caused by changes in factors other than the good`s or the product`s own price.SUPPLY  is the quantity of a good that is offered for sale at all possible prices.CHANGE IN SUPPLY is direct relationship between the price of a good  and the quantity of  the quantity of the good supplied. There are many factors or variables which can shift the market demand and supply curve. From this article, we find the factors that influence the  supply and demand is seasonal.“Palm oil production in the Southeast Asian country dropped 14.2 percent to 1.06 million tonnes, as heavy rains and floods in key oil palm growing areas stalled harvesting and cut off estate roads.  "Palm oil production is expected to seasonally fall further in February 2011, but to recover thereafter," Credit Suisse analyst Tan Ting Min said in a note issued after the MPOB data release”  http://in.reuters.com.

The Internet and its advantages

The Internet Network (Internet) has given birth to a whole new means of communication. Through the network of computer, it allows people to exchange information with one another all over the world.
The most important use of the Internet is the ability to send electronic mail. It is transmitted around the world in a matter of seconds. For the business world, where time is money, the e-mail is a fast and convenient way compared to the snail-mail, which is our ordinary way of sending mail. Families seeking to keep in touch with their children studying overseas can also use e-mail. They will save money on their long distance calls.
Being on the Internet means children will have acces to a multitude of networks available worldwide. Valuable software can be downloaded for free. School projects can be researched right at home.
There are countless activities which one can do on the Internet, such as visit an art gallery or museum, browse through advertisements, shops, or read the day’s newspaper published thousands of miles away. If  you’re feeling bored, just surf on one of the many chat channels available on the Internat, and you can share your feelings with someone from another part of the world. Senior citizens have found the Internet to be a useful outlet for their loneliness. They are able to make friends with other senior citizens and share their problems. Some have even found a cure for their illness through chatting on the chay channels.
Teachers are also on the Internet to take advantage of the information highway. They are able to do research, conduct surveys and exchange ideas with other educators,as well as learn the latest technique in teaching methodologies. They are able to participate in electronic discussion groups with hundreds or even thousands of academics from round the world.
Companies have also benefited by using the Internet. It has opened up a whole new market for business to flourish. Even a small company can market its product as effectively as a big company. Advertising costs are greatly reduced as it is free to advertise , hence only the power supply and Internet usage tarrifs are incurred when the advertisement is being created.
The internet has brought many advantages. Some say it will change our way of life forever. Others say it is too exposed and negative. Whatever direction it takes, one thing is certain: there is no avoiding it,

Good Health

The one thing everybody should value the most is good health. No matter how rich, intelligent and powerful a man is, he cannot be happy if his health is poor. Good health is the best wealth.
In order to keep ourselves in good health, we should eat balanced meals, maintain cleanliness, exercise regularly and keep away from unhealthy habits.
What are balanced meals? Meals that contain all the essential food types are considerd balanced meals. We have to drink at least eight glasses of water each day to flush out the impurities from the body’s system. Also, eat each meal at the same time every day, and never miss breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day.
Maintaining cleanliness is must for good health. This means living in clean surroundings, wearing clean clothes and keeping our bodies clean. A person should also have enough sleep. For an average adult, an average of eight hours of sleep at night is considered sufficient to help maintain the body’s goo health. Sleep is very important for the body and mind. The body rejuvenates itself during sleep. If possible, go to bed early and wake up early in the morning  so that one will feel fresh and energetic the next day to carry out the day’s tasks.
Regular exercise is also a major factor in keeping in good health. Physical exercise increases blood circulation, whets the appetite, helps digestion and keeps away illnesses. Regular exercise is a habit that needs to be cultivated. With improving transportation, there are very few who are prepared to walk or climb stairs. Instead, they prefer to use the lift. Cultivating this habit requires a lot of discipline, which is a rather rare quality these days.
There is a powerful connection between the body and mind. A strong and healthy body needs a strong mind in order to make it most useful. As the saying goes, A sound mind is lodged in a sound body. It is for this reason that great stress is put on physical exercise as well as mental training. Physical exercise is vital to develop a healthy body.
Finally, to maintain good health, we should also stay away from unhealthy habits such as smoking and drinking. Heavy drinking and smoking bring upon illnesses and shorten our lives. We must remember that it is easier to fall sick than to recover, as illustrated by the saying, sickness comes on horseback and goes away on foot. So lead a healthy lifestyle to avoid falling ill constantly.
It is usual that we seldom miss something till we have lost it. Having said this, be aware that good health is an asset that we should never wait to lose before we start appreciating it.
